How do i put a picture of my choice as a slide background?

Tried inserting my piccy to an existing slide as a design template and it says no as the piccy (jpeg) isnt a design template.

I hate computers. (they also hate me)

Format -> Background -> Fill Effects -> Picture tab -> Select Picture

Press Ok then select Apply if you only want the background on this one slide or "apply To All" if you want the sam ebackground on all slides
