Prang :(

Finished work this moring and was about 30 seconds from my house when i had a mishap with a bloke in a porsche boxter.

Was a dual carriage way - 40 limit. Porsche was in front of me. Both in the right hand lane.

A car in front of the porsche was turning on to his / her drive way so the porsche driver moved into the left to avoid it as he was pretty much up its arse.

He then had to slow down to avoid running into the back of a 4x4, who was just turning off to the left. At this point I was about two car lengths away in the right hand lane still, and as I had to stay in the right hand lane to get onto my estate I went to go past (thinking the porsche driver had seen me and was going to wait for the 4x4.)

Porsche driver had other ideas, as I was about to go past he decided he couldn't wait like 2 seconds and just pulled out into the side of me. Nout I could do tbh.

Damage to my car isn't too bad. Stripped paint off the passenger side front wing, same with the door plus a couple of minor dents. Front alloy is curbed all the way round.

His door was pretty much ruined, and as its a porsche its likely to be loads lol. Im just praying it goes in my favour as the excess on my car is huge atm and I've just forked out for 2 new PE2's and new brake pads so I'm pretty much skint.

Gutted mate, surely his fault as he changed lanes without checking his blind spot.. did you manage to get any independent witnesses' details?

Yeah sounds like it's his fault if the situation can be proved to be as you described, wouldn't worry tooo much. :)

  Shhh
So,

You were in the right lane, following the porsche.

A car was turning too the right, so the porsche hopped into the left lane to avoid it, and you stayed in the right.

Further ahead, a car was turning left into a driveway, you were still in the right lane. As you approached too pass the car turning left, the porsche driver in the left lane crossed lanes into you.

Cut & shut mate..

None fault 'Mirror Signal Manouvre'

A diagram is needed here me thinks! I'm pretty certain it's his fault but I'm having trouble visualising it :S

I

invisible man

If he drove into you it is his fault - end of. But always try to stay calm, make sure nobody is hurt, swop details and carry on your way. Getting upset when someone else damages your pride and joy can lead to you forgetting some details and losing out later.

yeah his fault all the way matey, just make sure you describe it clearly on the old claim form and make sure he doesnt try to talk toss.

to be fair though if you were in your lane there is no real dispute.

Sadly no footage.

Forgot to mention I did have a witnesses details. He claimed he'd been following the porsche down the motorway and the bloke was driving like a complete pillock, undertaking 2 lanes of traffic in the inside lane.

So I guess there maybe light at the end of the tunnel.
