Press Studs, Rivets etc HELP!

Anyone have a step by step guide on this?

Press studs from my findings (spot the noobie alert), consist of 3 or sometimes 4 parts. The Button, The Stud, the rivet and a washer underneath. Is the washer there to stop the rivet smashing through fibreglass I wonder?

Right - How do I put it all together? I'm guessing I need something like a rivet gun to press the rivet and washer to the stud etc?

Anyone done this can offer any help?

You will need a rivet gun ye. I used one when I was attaching my new footrest in my car. It basically pulls the rivet extremely hard until the end snaps off and the fat bit at the bottom expands. I only had the rivets though no washers or anything. Dont know much more about it
