Pressing the trip button while starting

Hi, I just hit the trip computer button (the one that cycles through the screens) on my 52 clio as I was starting the car (I tried to hit the wipers off whilst turning key) and the car started beeping and all the lights in the dash came on and the needles of the dials started going up and down and up and down, I waited to see if its stop; it didnt so I just turned it off and on again; anyone know what I done and if it affects the car in any way or is it just to test the dials/lights??

thats the onboard diagnostics, it wont harm your car in anyway.

if you have an A in higher english why do you not use correct english ? To me, it makes sence to practice a skill if youve got it.

I do have to practice using it for about 3000 words of an essay every few weeks. Like Jonnyboy says, its just more casual on here.

Like you starting a sentence with lower case.

You should only use one form of punctuation. A ! and a ? should not be used together at the same time.

I must try this press the trip button on start up.. Think I will drive out to the middle of nowhere with my girlfriend and press it on starting up.. hehe.. should be good to scare the sh*t out of her for half an hour or so..

why do you think GR has so many posts ? its from correcting all wot we retards did dun wrong
