Preventative maintenance - 2nd hand coil springs?

Hi all.

I've bought some 2nd hand (8k miles) coilovers for my car and the shocks are in great nick, but the springs have started to flake paint and inevitably started to show signs of rusting.

Is it worth be getting them sorted before fitting the suspension while it's all off?

And if so what do you suggest?

Was going to prep it a little bit, lash some kurust on them and just blast with stone chip paint.

Or get a quote on powder coating them if I absolutely have to.

Had them and they worked. Sock things that is.

As long as they fit properly they should, otherwise they'll just hold dirt and water and speed up the corrosion process.

I'd just coat them in ACF-50 and clean them every 6 months.

I have the motomec socks covering my coilovers and they have been spot on. I'd recommend them for sure.
