Price for de-cat back

How much would I be looking to pay for an exhaust system for the Willy from including a silenced de-cat and back. Also, would it be possible to use the original backbox (its just had a new one.....might as well use it)?

My Magnex system was cat-back and was in the region of 250 notes, going to get the de-cat pipeat around 50 notes so my sums tell me it should be about 300 all in.

Using the back box might be tricky as the middle tube length could be different depending on which system. Do the de-cat for now cause this will be a straight replacement and leave the rest till later.

K-tec do a silenced de-cat at about £60 plus VAT. I doubt that you could get an aftermarket system that would exclude the back box, but a local specialist (such as Longlife in Cardiff/Bristol) would help you out.

Id go for a full cat-back system and hang onto the original system for re-sale/future classic originality. You might also want to consider an unsilenced de-cat as well - I got one and thought it was a bit Nova-esque to start with, but am convinced now that Ive had it a month or so.

Whatever you get, youll love the sound it makes! Possibly the best 4-cylinder noise without reverting to TBs!

Got a straight through de-cat that buzzes and vibrates and a back box that has been badly fitted about 4 times by the same garage and smacks against the rear axle or something when turning right. I was thinking of just taking it to a sane, sensible garage and getting them to rip it all out and start again. The exhaust system is making me pissed off with the car now and I just want it sorted out so I can enjoy an excellent car properly.

Ben H - see my comments in my previous post about the awful noise Im getting from the unsilenced decat.

Ive just bought some silicone gasket stuff from Halfords and am going to re-fit it tomorrow to see if the silicone between the metal will help deaden the noise.

The buzzing I get is noticable from 2500 to 3500 revs which is exactly city driving territory in the Williams (sensible driving, that is!). And it is REALLY LOUD!!!! (The buzzing, that is)

de-cat back costs £200 for a mongoose system and they sound the dogs balls!my mate has got a magnex but they are quite compaired to the mongoose
