Private Reg Question (Soz if in wrong forum!)

Hey guys, since my car got vandalised on saturday im wanting to remove my private reg but buy a new one.

Do the DVLA buy regs' back from you? Or am i best off selling it privately?
Im not really clued up on the process' etc so any help would be greatly appreciated.

go to the dvla and put it on retention

then you can sell it

^^ yep theres a fee off £105 iirc, which holds it for a year for you to sell.

that fee of £105 will include the £80 transfer fee. To put a plate on retention its £25 a year.
