Dunno if you get this far but, if the boot sector is corrupt, start the comp in safe mode with command prompt, Type, fixboot c: (c= your volume name) and... fixmbr c: (master boot record if your curious)

B Beef-Mc Nov 6, 2008 #6 Can't get into safe mode, just constantly comes up with the blue screen. I take it that it's a common fault caused by improper shut down?
