problem with 16v!!!

just got a 16v been driving it about for about 3 hours.. every thing been ok temp fine,

on way back put it in wrong gear DOH!!! for a split second revs went RIGHT up!! seemed ok, got then back on 30 roads, and it overheaded, al lthe water blew out the header tank... since then it overheats.

but could it be beacuse of air in it? i did fill the header tank up WAY to much over the max... had been sitting in a garage for about 2 - 3 months. hmmm im scared ive popped the headgasket :| any ideas??

im going to bleed the water out make sure there no air in it etc.. any other ideas????

odd. any mayo under the oil cap? doubt its a headgasket that easily?!

ill give it a good check in the morning.

make sure you have coolant in it and not just water, the coolant helps the fluid not to boil, if its just water it might boil

right headhgasket sems ok no mayo or anything, oil ok. but the rad fan wont come on, and the other little pump doesnt seem to be working i think its thermostat not workign at all!!
