Problem with 172, Funny Light and Not running right.

Hey,

I have a 172 nothing out of the odinary normal mods like exhaust system, pannel filter change ported and polished also polished the inlet. So nothing special.

But in the last week the car just doesnt seem right, sometimes it wont hit VVT in some gears and seems limited. This light has also appeared on the dash ... (See attatchments).

Has anyone had this problem or know what it could be, the manual says that its an emissions issue.. but i dont know that much about it.

If you can help then it would be great.


Also if i need it to goto a garage if you know anyone in bournemouth that someone can reccomend?

Thats not a nice light to see. Get it to a specialist by trailer or AA. Have you tried Lyndon at Rentec ? ( poole ) hes pretty good. It will have to go on a diagnostic as that light could mean numerous different problems.

not as yet but i will contact him and see him next week if i can get there.

the car still drives and seems fine but im a tad worried.

yeh as said it's an emissions light, usually caused when people fit a decat or if a lambda sensor isn't working

could it be the throttle body? mate seems to think it could be.
