Problem with opening a file..

I have a word document that was sent from one of the factories i work/liase with in China, but there seems to be a problem, but it is fine their end (apparently)

The document is titled in Chinese characters - "新客户申请表.doc"

And when i come to open it up, this comes up
"Word cannot start the converter mswrd632"

This opens up a blank document!

Can anyone help?

Have you tried renaming it?

Right click and open with Notepad / Wordpad?

I'm guessing you'll be running Windows XP with this error

It's because it's a plain text document trying to open as a word document. If you're running Service Pack 2, delete the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Text Converters\Import\MSWord6.wpc

if you're running SP3, as above, try renaming to .rtf or .txt

None of the above seem to be working.

and also i tried deleting the above but its not appearing any where! :s
