Problem with remote c/l key!

My remote key only works some of the time, can i open it to clean it? The button presses but the light doesnt come on and obviously the car doesnt unlock.



If i keep trying it does eventually work and once i get it to work it works every time until i leave it for a while, then it stops working again.



Would it be covered under warranty? (52plate 172)

normally i would agree but when it works it works really well, from a long distance.

As i said as soon as i get it to work once, it works everytime, i dont think it would do that if it was a dead battery, in fact i would expect it would start off ok and fade away, if you know what i mean.

Can the key be opened?

take any key rings off,button facing up. slide button side back.

good luck, I cant get mine apart, got the spare key from my first dynamqiue so I will take battery out of this when it needs changing in my current key

leam 182, you must hav weak fingers!
get some practice on your lass

Sorted, the little plastic clip bits had bent and were not holding the battery properly.

it actually came off easily! maybe its different for the 182 key?
