Problems removing Clio MKII interior (rear seats)

  Renault Clio 1.2 16v
I've recently bought Renault Sport 182 Cup interior and would like to fit the interior into a 1.2 16v for it to have a sporty feel without all the costs as I have only been driving 5 months. I found the front door cards were easy to install but trying to remove the rear seats is becoming a bit of a pain :banghead: I've gone into the boot and removed the bar going alongside the rear seats but I've come across a star nut that is starting to round off as I try to loosen it.. Any suggestions?????

All advice is welcome.

Thanks, Gez.

There a pain to undo, I changed my sisters interior and I ended up using some grips and very slowly got it out someone may have a better suggestion

What type of grips did you use mate? I'm very limited on tools at the moment so will have to buy whatever one it is, the star nut has had it's days by the seems.. :(

I had serious bother with mine. The bolt goes through to the bottom of the car so you need to get underneath with some wd40.
Otherwise you can cut a slot on the bolt and use something serious to turn it.
I just got the angle grinder out and cut the head right off.

I had serious bother with mine as well. I ended up wrapping it in a few layers of masking tape and them smashing a socket over the top of it. Cant remember if it was a 17 or a 19mm socket but I got it off in the end and then replaced with a hex head bolt to make it easier in the future, good luck.

Thanks you very much for the advice guys, Well the car is 11 years old and wasn't really expecting it to come out easy.. Where can I get a hex head bolt from by the way?
