Problems with torrents

  Focus ST-2
As of late torrent downloads seem to be slowing down on my pc, everything else like limewire, normal downloads are fine. Any one got any ideas what this could be? when i say slow like 888b/s lol

Which client do you use??

If its bitcomet, make sure you set the max global download rate at your max broadband download rate and your max global upload rate at around 10kb/s less than your actual upload rate

EG: 2mb broadband

max global download rate - 2000kb/s
max global upload rate - 25kb/s

Its all to do with your contention ratio and Upload/download ratio, if you u/d ratio isnt anywhere near equal, the tracker reponds by slowing your download rate to compensate

Change your port setting, a lot of ISP's block/throttle the commonly used ports 6881 for example. Set your port as any number between 48000 and 60000 (e.g 48561) and you should see some improvement.

Failing that check your firewall (xp/router) isn't blocking the ports or restricting packets. Also check you can be DHT enabled, if you can't then you have a firewall issue.

i've tried bitcomet and a few others, but the download rates were shocking. Azeurus is far for me.
