Yep, another progress thread! :approve: Well if anything, it makes it easier for me to remember what I have done to the car and what still needs doing so here goes!
I bought my first clio in 2004. It was a 1.2 16v Dynamique.
I never had any problems with it at all and my original plans were to turn it into a 172 rep. After looking at costs I decided to just buy an RS Clio as it would be a similar cost.
The 182 cup came from "The Hairpin Company" near Swindon. This is how it looked on the day I went to view it.
After taking it for a test drive I was in love! I got a half-decent PX so couldnt wait to get it home.
The first mods I did were to remove all the dealer logos and stickers, fit a clean set of plates and silvervisions all round.
I then fitted a Sony Headunit, Sony speakers front and rear and a Sony Sub and Amp.
Due to this very forum, I was told to fit an ITG panel filter....so I did!
My first meet was a Southwest Breakfast Run to Cheddar.
Other mods went on including a Blueflame Exhaust and Silenced Decat and some Xenon filled bulbs which made my cup lights look a bit better. I also added a short aerial as the standard one is lame and replaced all the bulbs inside with LED bulbs as well as the sidelights and rear number-plate bulb.
The car went to its first "track" session at the annual airfield meet organized by ClarkieV6.
After many comments about my car being full of swirl marks and at the time not even knowing what they were, the car went to Justin-172 where he gave it a full detail and PC.
Thanks to Scottlm I then fitted a custom size front plate, JVC DVD headunit and Bosch Aero Wiper Blades.
Many people know that I used to complain about the car feeling underpowered to what it should. I decided to strip the rear which gave the car a much meaner sound inside as well as giving the car a whole new atmosphere to drive in.
A trip to Surrey Rolling Road proved that it was all in my head....or my driving!!! I got a strong result of 178.8bhp at the fly.
It was then time to bring the interior up to standard as everyone knows the cup standard is not great! I fitted RS door sills, Carbon-Fibre Effect Dash and Gear Knob Inserts, as well as some custom floor mats and full Leather/Alacantra Seats.
Since buying the car, I have decided to get into photography and so I bought a Canon EOS 400d. Although i'm still getting used to using it, I having taken hundreds of photos of the car -
The most recent mod has been my bargain buy of a set of 172 cup turinis. I much prefer them to the standard 182 wheels and in contrast to most people, really like them in silver. At some point in the next few months however, I think they will be going anthracite.
This is how it currently looks -
Future Mods Include -
1) Wheel Refurb - Anthracite
2) Colour Code Side Badges
3) Bremdo Discs and New Pads all round
4) New Style RS Badge
5) Paint Callipers - Black
6) Lowering Springs
7) RS Tuner
8) At some stage, a Yozza Exhaust
Stayed tuned...
