Prom Rally Pics (some Clio content!) 56K NO!

Here's a few pics from yesterday's New Brighton Promonade Stages Rally on the Wirral. Me, my brother and a few friends are marshals at the event every year and this year's event was great even with the wind and rain at a the start of the day. Brightened up in the afternoon though!

There were a couple of Clio's in the event including a very nice V6 and an equally nice pink valver which I've seen here on the forums before. The valver did have a close encounter with a water barrel at the chicaine on our sector on the third stage, but managed to continue the event with the help of a few rolls of gaffer tape and the guys from Yozza Sport!

Great day was had by all, enjoy!

My brother won the marshal's raffel first prize which was a ride in the winning car at the end of the event around the stage. The winner was the white Darrian T90 of Chris Davis & Brandon Parker, but he insited on going in the MG6R4 of the third place team which was the Stojanov brothers!

He said it was amazing and the speed and braking performance was like nothing he's experienced before!

Lucky git!!!

I don't blame him, 6R4 for me any day. Not that I'd fit in a Darrian anyway. The braking is the most amazing thing about purpose-built rally cars I think, I went in a Focus WRC and the stopping power was fantastic. The acceleration up hill on gravel from a standing start was pretty impressive too mind.

Yes, he was buzzing for the rest of the day after he got out and said if he manages to win again next year he will let me take his place just to experience the performance!!

Well eventually it now has an owner that uses it.........properly :rasp: :rasp:

Were the 2nd FWD car home only beaten by an F2 Maxi Escort, which we were quicker than in the rain soaked first stages. Was a wicked event, our most enjoyable event so far even with the minor incident.! Full report soon.

4 weeks last Sunday to the next one at 3 sisters in Wigan..!!

Lol thats the one. Its great having a girlfriend who's bosses are into their cars. Between the three bosses they have the Escort, Clio cup racer and M3 race car. Not to mention the ferrari's, Lambo, Aston, R8 amongst others at their track in Stafford
