Proof of No Claims

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Elephant require me to send them "my proof of no claims bonus", Otherwise they are cancelling my policy. I presume this is normal procedure, But as I have never needed to do this, What exactly are my proof of no claims? I Did it all online, I presumed they would check my name on a database, Which proves I haven't Claimed but I need to send them something.

What is this exactly? And what do i send ?

The "Head Elephant" Sounded quite annoyed in the Email ;)

w*****s lol.

Many thanks

lol, proof of no claims will usually be on the renewal. If not they should send you the proof when the previous policy expired.

I think last time it happened to my mum, she sent off an old insurance certificate iirc, or try getting elephant to contact your previous insurer.

If you speak to your old insurer they will post out your proof of no claims which you can send onto Elephant. Its unlikely Elephant will cancel your policy, but if you dont prove your NCB then they are likely to charge you the full price as if you had had a quote with to NCB. Now depending on how many years NCB you have that could be as much as 65% extra!

you either call the previous insurer asking them and they send a letter headed paper explaining how many years cover you had with them that you then forward to your existing insurer

some insureres will let them call but most will want paperwork to prove it

i find it funny that are threatening to cancle most insureres will just ask the remaining amount that your policy would have cost without a no claims bonus

Yeah and don't worry they can't just cancel your policy, they would have to write to you first stating that they intended to.

I did as above. Sent my renewal form from old insurer and also got them to send me a letter stating my NCB and sent both off to Elephant. Got a reply saying all done and no problems.

Only thing bad i found with elephant was they called me up a couple times selling me something, i said i was busy and could i ring them back and they just hung-up and no more calls lol

It would be regarding either:
a) Courtesy car cover (as you can only add that onto your poilcy within the 1st month); or
b) Home insurance

;)

You can also get a 'Proof Of No Claims' document sent to you by your old insurance company. I had to do that with Elephant as they are gay and i would never go with them again. Too expensive and rubbish at dealing with a claim.

Same thing happened to me! Bell Insurance gave me 7 days to get my proof of no claims to them or they were cancelling my cover.. All I did was ring my old insurance company and get them to send a copy of my no claims bonus, as soon as I got that I sent it off to bell and gave them a ring to confirm I have sent it, 5 days later I recieved my insurance contract ;)

elephant did the same with me. either

a) send a photocopy version of your previous insurance certificate to them
b) give elephant the policy number name and number of your previous insurance and they'll do it for you if you ask nicely.
