protected no claims...?? worth it?

i have 7 years at the mo.

if i did claim, touch wood i wont have to, how many years will i loose from the 7?

i reckon im going to have it, but just wondered out of interest!

hope not! im sure i read somewhere it was around 2 years you would loose per claim!

i cant afford to be loosing 7 years!

I would imagine if you have 7 years without a claim and your not protected and then you claim you would lose all 7 years . Your best bet is ask whoever insures you . Maybe each insurance company has its own policy on what you lose .

As mentioned i think it depends on the insurer. Be worth finding out actually.

Ive read most people loose on average 3yrs NCD off them.
But also heard that if its unprotected it all goes!

Gonna ring Tesco and find out in a bit of mine.

iv just found out, maximum NCD is 5 years regardless if you have 7 or more!

so if you claim without protection you loose 2 years so it would be 3 years!

so i would recommend protecting the mofo if you have the choise!

Definatly protect it, it may only mean you can make 1 claim per yer, but definatly worth it.
My insurance said I'd loose 2 years per claim if un protected.
