Protecting new paint.

Hi guys,

Just purchased a new Ducati, the paint isn't clear coated so naturally I want to give it some protection.

I have some auto finesse carnuba at home, just wondering if there's anything you guys would recommend at all that isn't mega £££££

I've seen things like opti coat mentioned etc..


Any thoughts?

I protect my ST 675 red with duragloss #605 + #111.
Every six months

I can't really be arsed with all that mate. I imagine that would cost a fair few £ as well?

Fully faired mate. And red.

I've read all sorts of opinions. Many have said if you get a decent wax on it and good upkeep its fine....?

Get someone local to get a semi-permanent sealant on it. It will act as a lacquer.

I gave it many layers of wax for the moment. Hopefully will help!

Where is it stored?

If it's not outside in the elements, waxing a few times a year* should suffice.




*not layer on layer on layer etc... A wash, decontamination then wax.

A guy I know has filled his garage with bikes, so now has one in his conservatory.

It's viewable directly from the kitchen sink lol. His mrs is so understanding.
