Can i say send or stream movies from my laptop to my PS3?

If so can someone explain how to do this in simpleton form?

Yes you can. Download a prog called ps3 media server and install it.

then search for media servers on the video bit of your ps3

navigate to the file and press play.

so i download ps3 media server on my laptop?

have that running and get my ps3 to search for media servers?

Yeh but thats a balls to set up and isn't as good/simple as ps3 media server imo.

"In Windows Media Player go to Tools > Options > Library

Click on the configure sharing button.

You should see Unkown Device or Ps3 listed there.

Click on Allow"

Then browse from the PS3, not sure that's difficult to set-up?

I have tried this numerous times, but when i click on the 'configure sharing button' i dont see any devices.

I have a ps3 obviously and im running on Vista.

Any suggestions mate, please?

as said, just use windows media player, piece of piss, takes seconds.

or i just have them on a usb drive and connect that up, that way i can do high def as high def streaming is full of fail.

Re: pm. WMP sucks at it won't play mkv. Ps3 media server is all you need, and will transcode virtually anything. It's all I use. Tversity is an alternative, but I found PS3 media server easier and less bloated.

I've tried this but it always jerks and stalls and is basically un-watchable for me :dapprove:

USB drive is definitely the way!

works no prob on windows media player, just got to put the vids etc in their relevant folders in my documents and thats it :)
