ps3 surround sound

just wondered, can i hook a surround sound system up to the ps3 as i dont really wanna buy another dvd player as i have the blu ray on the ps3.

if so do i just connect it up from the back.

The PS3 has an optical out, if your surround sound system accepts that then all should be good.

Yeh mines connected through optical cable to surround sound.
