PS3 Und linux ?

is there any point ? should be picking up my 80gb system tonight and swapping out the 80gb disk for a spare 320gb i have and wondered about teh linux but is there really any point in it ?

well you can install any video codecs on there so i guess that improves format playback...

mouse and keyboard experience on proper web browser and pressumably, filesystem allows over 4gb files?

can't think of any others.

Yes, sort of lol

Personally I wouldn't bother as the hardware is not fully unlocked (by Sony) hence linux can't take advantage of its power.

Plus the limited ram in the PS3 makes it far from an ideal.

Yep, you know me and linux and even I haven't bothered.

Mainly because 99% of the videos I play are fine on the PS3, it has an inbuilt web browser, itunes etc.. and on the rare occasions that it doesnt have what I need I have a PC and a laptop.

i was just hoping to move the pc back upstairs thats all

99.9 % of my stuff is h264 mkv

i had same issue. i got a wd tv live . works flawlessly. 1080p with dts £100.
