PS3 Upscaling settings? Normal or Full?

Can't see a difference but when looking at this the options are 'OFF' which give a 576i input, 'Double Scan' (which i haven't tried) and Normal and Full which both give 1080i input... what are the difference between the last two?
Anybody know..

i have it on full though 1080p which doesn't look very good but on 720p full looks ok.

I have a panny Viera TH42PX80 which is only 1080i with p processing but not full 1080p.

ps3 will be better overall using 720p mate, get the ps3 to output to that.
