Anyone still play this? I've played this for a little while when it first came out and left it until i re purched it about a month ago. Done quit a lot of the single player stuff but recently started going online for the first time. Done quit well, I'm on B on the DR rating was about 24k 10 days in and past few days gone down to 17k, just seem to be loosing DR points during the race, i don't fully understand the rating system. It's very annoying for me at the minute, Especially when people force the way into you round corners and bump into you or knock you off the course.

Still not very good at the game but i'd like to get to A or A+ Driver Rating, if anyone wants to join me in a lobby sometime and get some practice in, the more the better.

The ratings can be a bit up and down, I did well at Spa in the group 4 cars a couple of weeks ago and went to A, but since then it has been dropping back down again and I think I'm back to the middle of B now.

I've been doing Bathurst this week, it has been very frustrating as the track is so narrow. I see it is group 3 at Interlagos again next week so that should be good, wasn't too bad last time around there.

Yeah, seems track knowledge and practice is key, watching the top replays too seems to reveal some tricks with regards to lines. I really struggle when in the races, in traffic is so much different trying to judge what others will do. Qualifying does help in some ways so you're a bit higher up.

Sometimes though it just doesn't work out and it ends up being a bad week with lots of lost DR, Haha.

Seem t obe sticking to one track now, i stuck to Fuji on Group 2 last week and i was doing very well, starting around 15th to being last on grid and getting around 4 to 11 gained places. Some races were horrible, being tapped from behind, cars getting rammed off and end up hitting me and getting a 5 sec penalty for doing nothing at all. Got rammed a few times deliberate but i kep stuck in. My DR rating has gone up to around 25,100 points, gained well over 7k. Hoping to reach A rank soon.
I'm starting to learn how to use the Brake Balance and understand how it works, I've never used it until past 2 weeks.

I don't fully understand on the penalty's when people get rid of their penalty during the race by slowing down or braking right at the end before the finish line. I tend to just finish the race with the penalty.

When i see people during the race or watch videos they brake and slow down before the finish line.

Is there something i don't know on this? Do you not loose as much DR when get rid of the penalty before the end of the race??

Good to hear you're getting on well with things now! Didn't do the Fuji one but watched a few videos, looked a good race with some strategy. What is A rating, 30k isn't it? Not too far away now.

Are those videos older ones? They used to use the same penalty system as single player, so slow down whenever to get rid of your penalty time. I see now they have changed it so you have to slow down in the penalty zones, with no way to get rid of it before the race ends.

There was an update this morning, was to do with where you now can't use say Meduim on the front and Hard on the rear. Also a fix on the Penalty where you don't get a penalty when you get a very slight nudge of a car. I got loads of them getting hit from the rear minding your own business and getting a penalty.

Yeah A rank is 30k, I've seen a lot of videos from recent to a couple years ago, but i'm pretty sure i've seen it on recent ones. Yeah now you have to slow down in certain penalty zones, but i've now and again slowed down on certain races certain corners to reduce the penalty. When i see a certain video i'll post it up on here

Also people talk about Top Split and so on, I know the Top Split is where you race against the top players, but how do you know if your in one? Also i know you got more DR is you do well for eg pass cars ranked higher than you

Ah, I've been stung by those penalties as well so nice that they have fixed them.

I've not seen anywhere that shows what split you are in, I think it may just be from knowing who the good players are. I may be wrong though.

On the ratings, your car number is your rank in the race too if you didn't already know. So number 1 has the most DR, and so on.

Have you been doing any races this week? I've not done any yet, left it a bit late to pick one up. Next week I might, looks like some better races.

Ah right, i wondered about the Car's number. So it's the rank on how much DR you have.

I've had about 4 or 5 races past couple hours on the Daily Race A and i've lost 2k in DR points. It's utter discraceful on the other cars, it seems you can get away with way more. Got pushed off and rammed of the track and the other driver with no penalty. I'm a safe driver and seem to get really punished for it.

Had a look at the other tracks on the Daily Races, but i'm not strong on those ones, i'll have another go for a few races, if i don't go up in DR i'll wait until next week and see what other tracks come up

Yep, your rating in comparison with others in the lobby.

Doesn't seem right does it, you try drive clean and as you say it gives you a penalty for being rammed!

You can actually see next weeks races on the Kudos site, if you click events they are listed below the current ones from about Thursday each week. Looks like group 4 at one of the fantasy tracks and group 3 at Suzuka.

Just had another 2 races just now and around 9th n 10th and car numnber is around 5th n 6th and getting to around 10th in the end. So much unfair racing by drivers.

Might do some practice on next weeks tracks next few days

Had a few games this morning on the Group 4 and it was just horrbile was in the middle of the grid, cars nudging you left right and centre and knocking you off and lost a 1k half in DR. I'm actually quit good on that Dragon track and thought do more practice on the Group 3 on Suzuka it's not my strongest track and did about 40 to 50 practice laps and did a 2:01.0139 or something and had a few races and ended up being in pole position and top 3 cars couple times and my DR has gone back up it's just under 25k now. Have a few more races tomorrow hoping to be around 27k. It makes all the difference being at the front having a good lap time

It does, I've found qualifying really important too. The rolling starts can really mess you up, on some tracks there are massive gaps before the start. You need to be top 3 to stand any chance, but I don't tend to be good enough for that! 😂

Suzuka takes my fancy but it is the longer race. Have they fixed the penalties yet?

Think i prefer the rolling starts than the grid, not too much spread out though. Think it's my kinda style the longer races and faster cars, more chance of people getting spun out loosing control or taking the corner too fast. The penalty system now is they've reduced it, It's ok for clean drivers like me but amazing for dirty drivers. So much more contact form other cars and no penalty's given

I got this at Xmas and going through a lot of the single player stuff. Crazy how much money you get for completing stuff compared to older GT games

Yeah can get atleast 10,000,000 on doing the campaign stuff. There's a Lewis Hamilton DLC where if you get all tracks Diamond you get 100,000,000 iirc.

Seems abit more to do , there's always more added tracks and cars and campaign stuff to do.




I happen to be in a top lobby as there was A+ and S rank players and was surprised to see Super GT on his other account "R4M Shadow" on pole position, managed to keep it together and got about around 2k in DR on that race

I’ve started to watch that myself, about half way in the first race. Really like that track, was my first track going online on Gran Turismo. I’ve not yet plunged onto the FIA just yet, I’m still using the controller on Automatic, I’ll get hammered on the tyres and fuel compared to Manual. I need more time getting to know the game before doing the FIA.
On the next GT I’d like to get quit far on the ranking system like S S on the GTS

There's a new update on the game now, it includes a Aston Martin DBR9 2011 iirc. A few more tracks on the Campaign.

Had an attempt for the first time on a Daliy C Race at Brands Hatch. As you can by my driving, i was a bit sketchy but getting there. You had to use all 3 compounds Soft, Medium and Hard. One race i ended up 2nd but had a 20 second penalty at the nd of the race as i didn't know that then. I know now, quit a few people on this race didn't know either

Also i got Kie25 and EERIESSSS following me know.

Yeah that's right, unfortunatly. Years and years ago i tried Manual but failed a few times. To be fair I'm doing ok ish. I can see now in some races i am struggling on a Automatic. I'm hoping that the new PS5 controller has extra buttons on the back like a flappy paddle. I could and just practice for a while on Campaign on Manual, just feels un natural in the hand pressing the x and square buttons for grears, i use the L2 and R2 for power and brake.

Yerars ago i used the X for power , i think the other GT game i used the left stick for power too and used the lever buttons for the Manual gears.

@Geddes you can buy an attachment now for the PS4 controller to add back buttons on to it. Might be able to program that for manual gears but I'm not sure. You'd have to do a bit of research before buying.

You just need to practice. L2 Brake, R2 Accelerate, Square Up the gears, X Down the gears. Practice makes perfect, that or get a wheel etc.

Tried Auto set a time, went to Manual can't remember who won, so went back to Auto was 7.21 and went to Manual and it was 7.13, by using the X and Square button. lol I'm really shocked on the diffrence, it felt so unballanced the car i was all over the place and the Brake Balance was a 0. When in Manual i could control the car so much more and the gears making use of the extra rev limiter.

So last night I had my 6th race, Qualified on Pole around a track I'd only driven for 15mins before the race. Walked away from everyone.



Not the smoothest but decent enough.

I'm about 27k ish on DR points B rated on this account , on my LordGedi i'm still a A rated about 31,500 ish points.

had another few races this morning and everyone is pushing their way through, no patience at all. Almost everyone defends or battles so much it just looses time and everyone from behind just catches up. I think the penalty system has improved a bit.

I got bumped form behind twice in this race and left track and no one got penalty. Did quit good in the end even though started in the middle of the pack and got punted off twice

I kind of cope alright when i'm racing, It's not great at all when you get held up by other drivers infront of you and cars from behind starting starting to pile up behind you trying to barge past. It's much better for me when there's clear air infront and just think it's a quali.

My optimum lap is 1:38.350 area on that track which would put me right up the top of the grid, but i just can't get it all together. tried about 40 or 50 laps best i could do is 1:38.880
