Puddle in my Clio 3 door no sun roof.. help!

Hi

i need ur help

got a water leak in my clio, its a 3 door with no sun roof

leaks in rear passenger footwell only

its been there for a while, jst neva this bad!

take a look at the pics..

i think its the rubber seal around the frame of the door.

what do you think? is it sumthing else? anyone else had this?

just want to make sure it is that, before i spend £50 on a dam rubber!

notice the rubber seal...

and here is a video i made, after i cleaned it up and got my bro to pour water on the car from outside over door and roof.. it comes in exactly where the puddle is on the door seal..

do you think it is definately the door seal then? wanna make sure as 50 pound is steep for sum rubber..

yea i had the exactly the same prob with my old car but in the front... u need the seal done pronto.

Thats a fooking big puddle mate, get that sorted sharpish.

For £50 its worth it to stop that other leak anyway.

Before you panic and thrash the cash for a new door seal.

Have a close look and see if there is a small hole in the soft part of the rubber.

Some cars have them to let the water out, and they can get blocked.

The other thing to check, is.

Is the water getting at the top somewhere and running down, rather than getting in at the bottom.

the small holes are not blocked.. checked them and when the door is open and you poor water on the roof of car, the water slides down the gutters and rubber fine, without goin in, its only when you close the door and pour it over the door aswell as roof, it gathers at the bottom on the seal and overflows and pours in..

am i rite in thinkin its the seal then?

its really difficult to diagnose something like this remotely.

what i would do, is pull it off and give it a really good clean and check for wear or rips.

Make sure when you put it back on, that it pushes right on to the metal lip.

you might be lucky.

also have a look on the mating surface of the door, see if that gives you a clue how its getting in.

okay ive figured out its not the door seal.. (thank god i didnt get the door seal)

basically sum water is slippin down the inside of the window (which is normal happens on both doors) but on passenger side it is splashin out and not goin to the gutters at bottom, instead slippin out from bottom of plastic door card, onto the rubber seal and then into the car (as its parked on a hill overnite) ive redcued it buy putting a plastic sheet (plastic which comes with a new mattress lol thank you mothercare) on inside of the door card and closing it back up, it no longer comes inside in huge amounts like before no puddles.. but it still is drippin in slightly, so still causing a damp footwell, not necesserily a wet foot well like before ..

anyone no a permenant fix for this?

check the drains in the bottom of the doors.
