Pulsing/rumbling noise when decelerating

Dear clio lovers,

Today my clio 1.4 16v has developed some weird noises. It only happens when decelerating. The pulsing is directly proportional to the turning of the wheels. I saw an post which was quite similar to my problem, but im really hoping its not a gearbox problem.

Im quite hesitant to drive it to work tomorrow. I will investigate further today.

Thoughts on the noise? The video is me accelerating for some time, then decelerating.

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me, but I’m far from being qualified to answer 😂 And I haven’t driven a Clio for probably 12 years!

Is it when turning both ways, or just one direction? And is it speed related?

strange one that, could be gearbox related when the load is removed from it but also could be wheel bearing related for the same reason. What happens when you do the same thing, lift off the power but then rock the steering left to right?

Ive done a test drive

Its more prominent when i take a right turn, so means that the left wheels are loaded more. Im thinking wheel bearing as well now.

Checked the wheels, lug bolts and drive shaft play. It seems all okay. (Double checked torque on wheel to rule out a loose wheel 🙈)

i also saw some other problems under the car that i will have to fix later, but this problem is my priority for now
