Puncture+subwoofer=grrrr......

  Polo Bluemotion
Just got home after having a friggin puncture. Id been in a local supermarket, came out, got in my car, started to reverse out+ thort this steering feels heavy!! i got out to have a look, and it was my front left!!

The first thing i noticed was the guy next to me had parked about 12inches nxt me. And then i remembered my sub!! lol. Ive got a 12inch ported sub box screwed down in my boot, not to mention all the other random shite ive got in there:quiet:

It took me 15mins to get my spare out, fighting with the sub box,and boot floor, and 3 mins to change the wheel!! lol.

Not quite sure what the moral to this story is,its not not to hav a sub, cos i love it, but.......suggestions?!?!

have a sub but screw it down to a false floor so it can be easily lifted out in on piece, or build a custom sub box that goes in the recesses at the side of the boot

I needed the boot space.

I got a puncture in mine the other week and don't have a spare.... I had to call the Dutch equivalent of the AA to come and pick up my wheel, get it repaired and bring it back again. Felt like a right twonk though.

Loving that mike!! Hav u screwed all that to the standard shelf!?!?! (it kinda looks like it!)

Ive got my ported box, with sum L brackets coming off the back, screwed into the plastic bulkhead(?) works great (stops it sliding around, keeps sum of the boot usable etc) until i have to get to the spare wheel!! lol, damn! Ill look into how u hav mounted urs tho, looks good

hus the 1 hu was stood there like a lemon wrestling with their subwoofer?! nuff said

For> Hair moving bass
Against>2nd puncture in 65k miles, in 3 years

If it was a regular thing, id hav to reconsider, but the positives out weigh the negatives

I ended up using strips of velco to keep my sub held in place and its never moved an inch.

Alot easier than messing about with false floors thats for sure.
