Queery on iMessage 'Email'

My niece has a iPod Touch before she's using my sisters email for her Apple ID. She has now got her own email address and changed it on ID. I could iMessage her no problem on the old email. But now on new email i cant iMessage her but she can send me a iMessage and reply no prob but it shows up as using her old email but she is infact using her new email ands he has verified the emial she got off Apple.

Any suggestions?

Settings - messages - receive at.

Or just switch iMessage on and off again.
