Question about R888's, and what does 88W mean on the tyre, and coilover question ?

OK, so just toying with the idea here, but i was thinking about buying some R888's for summer use and keep the Pilot primacy's for winter as they are pretty pants. Im aware that the R888's are not a long lasting tyre due to the soft comound, but does anyone have any idea about how long they will last, mileage wise? I expect to cover 6000 miles over the summer months :dead: and id like to make the most of warm tarmac etc.

What does the 88w mean on a tyre? My Pilots are 195/50R16's and 88W. The R888's are 84W. Will this be an issue ?

About the coils, i bought mine to try and eliminate body roll, i find that when going round a bend at around 70-90 mph there is still a fair amount of body roll, my fronts are fairly low with the tyres only just sitting in the arches, do you think that moving the suspension up a bit will make them corner better ?

far from pointless IMO
smaller engined cars make up the time and speed in the corners, so having a well handling good grippy car is the best way of making the most of the 1.6

all IMO of course

I want to try 888's on the missus fiesta - It's sometimes much more fun than the 172!

as much as i dislike my car, its actually a right hoot round corners especially now its on coilovers.

88 is the load rating and W is the speed rating.

As you've said, you might have lowered them too much. I know they have limits on ride height, but you don't need to go to them. Remember suspension needs a range or travel to work correctly. Body roll won't be changed much by this to be honest. It's more to do with the spring/damper stiffness. Might just the the limitations of the coilovers you're running?

Why would you want to eliminate bodyroll?
