question on airbox part

was routing my caf for my cda i camed across a part where the priginal caf was and i was wondering what it is, its got a hose contecting to it with a paddle in the centre of the tube which clearly works from a vacuum the plenum creates,sorry i cant be more descriptive,but anyone know what im talking about?

Thinks its the Acoustic Valve.... Do a Search there is loads of threads about it on here

Yep, that's the acoustic valve alright. Serves very little purpose, can easily be removed, but make sure you seal off the vaccuum tube if you do.

am i the only one that noticed a bit more low down pull with my acustic valve fitted or is the noise going to my head? lol

Im thinking of removing mine too so will post summit up if i notice any difference

well i have noticed nothing with it off,apart from a serv light flickering on and off from time to time
