Quick DECAT Question...

Hi,

Very quickly, can anyone tell me if just a decat on an otherwise standard 182 exhaust would cause it to pop and bang at all?

Would it make much difference to the noise? Thanks!

Probably just make it a bit raspier/tinnier... They rarely pop as far as I know, only when freezing cold and just been started mine does it at low rpms when you drop the clutch. Even full pelt all day long on track ive only heard one or two in the past - thats with an unsilenced exhaust system too, apart from the backbox...

I believe you'd need a remap to cause pops and bangs.

mines the same. decat, straight through system and custom remap and it only pops when its cold. it burbles a little on the over run when opening it up but no pops or bangs.

So really no point in decatting the car? Doesnt make much difference to power does it on these cars....?

i had a decatted yozza system and the car revved a lot free'er made quite a bit of difference IMO

Yozza decat on BTB made it alot raspier.
