is there no point in downloading it? will i ever be able to get it?

some times yes , say there 14.5meg of a 15meg file well the file on its own means theres no point to any of that download, which is why u get .par files providing theres enough of them to cover the missing parts itll make the download complete.

yes, download the par's and you can repair the incomplete files.
