quick question bout chrome upper inlet

i see on the forum a few people have the upper inlet 4 branch bit chrome how have you done this is it just spray or have you had whole inlet chrome plated? thanks guys for help

They will be Chrome plated Dan, however machine polishing can have them come up brilliantly - not quite as much shine but still very impressive.

yeah i see that some ppl only have the full branch bit done and nothing else, if it was plated then wouldnt the whole lot get done?
 
They're not chromed, just sanded back until completely smooth, then worked down finer and finer sanding grades then polished to a high shine. My old 172 had it done.

I still have the polished fuel rail guard lying around somewhere actually.

I'd try a 120? If it's not rough enough, then go lower, but at worst you're looking at:

You may be able to miss out some stages though

Chrome is all about light and reflections through scratches basically to think about it.

It's quite late.
