Do i need to put exhaust paste on the joint between the cat and the centre section? cheers guys sorry for the fussy question, just want to make sure i do everything spot on in the morning
yeh. best to put it inside the socket of the joint so it creates a good seal when you put the clamp on, and then smear a load around the joint aswel then clamp it up.
yes you need to put something on to act as a sealant between the 2 surfaces.
ideally you have exhaust paste (its like tooth paste) rather than the putty.
you must clean the mating surfaces - use sand paper then give the 2 sections a trial fit to make sure it all goes up ok, as when the paste is on you dont want to be faffing around.
then use the paste on the mating surfaces - on both the cat and the centre section end. then bolt together nice and tight - dont forget to put some copper grease on those bolts!
