Quick question Re AOL

  Astra CDTI SRI
Going to migrate to AOL from tiscali.

Can you use firefox instead of the crappy AOL browser?

And will my existing wireless router work the same?

Ta.

yes you can but imo I wouldn't choose AOL they're not that great. Orange/BT work well, Orange used to be Wanadoo.

Hope that helps :)

Need compleatly unlimited downloads ;) As far as I'm aware, they are the only Broadband provider that allow you to download as much as you want.

Isn't tiscali unlimited? I know heavy users get throtlled (sp?) between like 18:00 and 23:00, but it's still unlimited.

One good thing about moving to AOL, If you already have a modem / router, you get the Broadband without a contract. Its on a month by month basis.

So if it is sh1te, you can get rid of it! :D

Fair usage policy! Tiscali or Tosscali as they are known on the forums are the sh1tist of the sh1t. Line speeds are all over the place, 50% of the time you cannot get connected. Unable to play games on the 'net as your ping speeds go through the roof.

That's why I'm moving!

Have a look at their forums. They are full of unhappy people.

Got my final FUP warning on saturday, rang up today and cancelled. Joy!
Best thing I have done.

Don't touch them with a barge pole!

i have AOL and find it quite good really.

I don't use their software as i found a thread on CS that gave me instructions to make XP log on automatically to my AOL software so i never run AOL 9.0.

Plus as i have been with them for a while i have got my 1meg line down to £10 a month instead of the now current price of £15.

I find their help service ok too, as you can speka to people online etc.

I found that before, using AOL 9.0 to connect to BB would be unstable. On occasions AOL 9.0 would crash making me HAVE to reinstall all of the software including the drivers for the router. Otherwise it would refuse to log on.

Since using the auto log on with XP i have not had any of these problems.

Gets the thumbs up from me. (been a customer for almost 2 years now.)
