Quick speed cam Q

Hi all... Basically - If you are driving along a dual carriage way, 40mph speed limit but doing over it AND in clear view of a copper at side of the road holding a radar gun DO you need to be pulled over there and then for anything to happen?

Now the background - young 19 year old lad at work in a paddy today after lunch saying he has "just been caught speeding".. Asking the circumstances he mentions the above... He also said that the car in front was actually caught and waved in by the police but he werent waved in so just carried on... He WAS speeding and in clear view of the other copper holding the radar gun but NOT pulled over. He is proper worried as not been driving long. He also drives an old L reg clio as his 1st car and im like a god to him in my cup saying "wow when i get older thats what im getting".. bit like when i had my 1st car, 1.3nova sr - I was determined to get a NOva GSi just like mates brother.. did i get one? did i sh!t ... (hmmm not saying Cups are like Nova GSis just saying.) - I personnaly think he is fine, and VERY lucky that the person in front had been caught a few seconds prior!

Anyway, enough of this garbled lunacy - your views plz so i can let him know tomorrow...

^as above. they only send u a ticket in the post if its like a tripod thingy or in a van. if its a copper by side of the road, they pull u there and then....i think

Yeh they have to pull you there and then, I went past one on a 30mph dual carriageway in Pontefract at 40mph and he didnt pull me, but my mate got 3 points and a fine for doing 50mph and actually told him that he wasnt pulling people doing 40 but more than that and he was.
