Quickest Standard Clio

Whats the quickest standard clio to 60 other than the V6?? 172? 182 Cup? Williams?

With the exception of the V6, whats quickest from the likes of 182, 172, Cups etc etc etc.

Evo seems to put the 172 cup at 6.5 secs 0-60, which is quicker than any other clio except the v6.

What did they time it with? A pocket watch? lol. Sounds a bit too quick for a standard 182. Most othrer mags put them about 6.8secs 0-60.

LOL 6.3 my arse.

If you want to compare standard times, you have to use the Renault quoted times, as they are the only people to have data on every single Renault model. I dont know exactly which of the newer 2.0 Clios it would be, but it would be one of them, disregarding the V6. So a 182 or a 172 Cup Id suppose, or maybe a mk1 172?

Depends whos driving the car. Renault might quote 6.8 0-60 but Id bet most people wont get near that.

why are people talking about 172s 182s ?... when vaguely i think the guy wants to know whats the quickest except for any clio 2.0 litre or above.... so this includes 1.2s...1.4s....1.6s and so on? atleast thats the impression the question gave me?

Its hard to say if hes asking whats quickest to 60 out of the willy, valver, cup, 172, 182 or of hes excluding them.

I would have thought may be a mk1 RSI as its the only other performance orientated one I can think of?

Do you think that 0-60 is the best measure of how "quick" a car is?

Renault lumps are notoriously mileage-sensitive, which explains why a lot of 16Vs, Williams and Ph1 172s get quicker performance stats than they should given the standard claims. I for one have always seen Williams make more than 140bhp at the wheels on RR days (which is about what a 172 should be making).

Just to go slightly off-topic here, I thought the V6 was faster than 6.4 to 60! Thought it was more like 5.5.

I guess, according to those stats, the 172 Cup is fastest then.
