Burning oil.

Check you've not overfilled with oil.

Prob has overfilled! Someone just gave me a fiesta for free, not bad nick just smoke. He said he kept filling it with oil. Ill drain it and put new in I think.

valve stem oil seals are common on fords. is it only startup?

Yeh pretty much just when its cold. Sometimes after a while on idle as well.

could be piston rings then... do a compression test and put a drop of oil in the bores to see if it risies.

How much to by new rings for a ford? Did compression test but all ok ill try the oil thing though.

tbh putting new rings in, wouldnt be worth it, just source another engine.
