quite a list :D

ok here it goes, aimed at the mechanics/people that know what there on about.

will the whole rear hub setup from a renault laguna ( yes the estate :D ) and including the front disc setup, would this be quite easy to drop in a 1.2 authentique clio phase 2 ?

reason am wanting to do this is, i like the laguna 17" alloys and have virtually chopped my car and they look quality on but there 5 stud alloys, also the laguna has front and rear disc setups which will increase braking performance and reduce my insurance since its a safer car :D (so av been told)

im no mechanic but dont think it'd work tbh. it'd be easier to chuck a 1.6 dynamique rear axle on which on the later models came with rear discs. but that would mean youd have to use some other alloy wheels.

as for the insurance your onto a loser there, as they look at why you want to increase your braking power. declaring a big brake conversion on my old car would have actually put it up, but it does depend on the insurance company.

get 172 rear disc conversion, or diesel rear discs, as some diesels have em.

As for the wheels, just get some adaptors made up? Visit E38 for some ideas as to what is possible...

Wiring the rear disks up ins't that simple.

It's all the same in theory, 1.6 Dynamique rear discs, 172, diesel etc. It's not gonna be plug and play obviously, but it can be done, otherwise renault wouldn't be able to do it.

Its the ABS thats the problem, theres a different number of the teeth on the ABS rings of the drums and the disks. You'd need to reconfiigure the ABS system to read the new rings (no idea how you'd do it though, maybe with CLiP).

If it's from the same shape, but with discs they should be the same shouldn't they? Unless drums are different to discs on the ABS side of things, even so, im sure it can still be done, like i said Renault can do it.

Nope the abs system is different its easy if you either I've tried it.

Change the abs system
Or make up new selector abs ring for the rear disks.
