R 1998 - 1.4 Maxim - Overheating

Hi all,

Previosly my dad and I replaced my head gasked, and have driven for just over 3000 miles, so thought all was well.

At the moment I drive for a bit and the car starts overheating.
My dad has just had a look and the radiator is cold, even though the expansion tank is hot.

It does have a tiny crack in the top of the expansion tank, but not sure that would be the issue? or is there something else we are missing?

Anyone got any thoughts what so ever?

I'd look at the thermostat.
