Anyone got it off Steam yet? It's a WW2 RTS, where the emphasis seems to be on kidding your opponent that you're actually attacking in larger numbers/a different position/with different units than you actually are.
I've only had one go against the AI (and lost) and so far would say it was merely good, rather than great.
After the initial go, I think the issues are pretty clear. For one, there's a LOT going on. I'm not quite sure that the everyday RTS player will actually appreciate it, tbh. Without doubt, there will be those super-human players who will blitz this game (and any online opposition) with relative ease, but it feels just a little over-whelming.
The actual ruses that you acquire, such as spying, camoflague netting, terror tactics, etc - actually feel like a bolt-on rather than a core feature of the game. I spent far too long in guiding my Mitchell bombers to take out targets and provide P-40 air-cover in the process - which was actually more enjoyable than messing about with the ruses.
So as not to give you a massive advantage with a ruse, they are for a timed period only. But really, I just dabbled with a few and then forgot all about them. No doubt a seasoned player online would make absolute mincemeat out of me for doing so (as did the AI) - so it was little surprise that I lost!
It's certainly no C&C-type game with a bit of covert intelligence going on. It seems more like a resource collectiong/build units/but deny the enemy their intelligence by utilising various ruses.
Not sure I'd buy it in all honesty.
