R14 CUP Enhancement Detail (So many pics its unreal lol)

Car  Flame Red Delight
Well have the pleasure of doing GAZ85s cup over the weekend, he dropped it off with me early saturday morning, without a doubt it is one of the best spec'd cup on here and was a pleasure to bring her back to former glory. Just to clarify this was an enhancement, this isnt full swirl removal it is just removing light swirling and wash mitt marring and mainly enhancing the gloss of the paintwork.

I just used the same method as i have previously posted products used were:

G101
Tardis
Citrus wash and Gloss chemical guys
Trim and Tyre Black chemical guys
Bilt and Hamber clay
CYC ep800 rotary with yellow 3M pad and then my Ultimate detailing machine with Black hex for glazing.
I used DODO juice lime prime with abrasives with the rotary and then used Poorboys Blackhole as a glaze and then used my new DODO juice Hybrid wax.

Probably missed out products but you get the idea, i will let the pictures do the talking. Would just like to say a bit thank you to Gally for letting me borow his rotary and a whole host of thinks, thanks mate :).

After a snow foam and degrease with G101 and wheels done with Brite Gel wheel cleaner, not touched the car with any form of mitt etc yet:

Preping the car for the Machine polish, wheels re-done, clayed using bilt and hamber clay and Demon shine as the clay lube, snow foamed several times and then used citrus wash and gloss with 2 bucket method and lambswool washmitt, and then used the demon shine as a waterless car drying stage. (Not all done in this order btw)

Then Fully Dried it went into the garage to get some machine polishing work, sadly i havent really got the hang of the whole taking pics whilst using a sun gun thing yet but bare with me and i will get practicing. The pics dont do it justice really, process was lime prime and then blackhole and then 2 coats of dodo juice supernatural hybrid:

Then after busting my ass off for about 6 hours with the machines (little pics during this time due to me being in a rush to get it finished) was back outside to get some pics of the work i had done and then add trim gel and do the plastics windows etc, still a hint of light swirling but this was merely an enhancement not a full correction, removed all marring and light swirling and scratches and bird poo etching etc

Finished:

Haha thanks mate, cant always carry £100 notes around like you, i heard you use £100s to blow your nose with this true ? ;)

lovely, my joint favourite clio on here (the other being wests renault dci) perfect colour turinis. can you add my name to the list of people that want your spoiler when you come to sell it (seriously)

back to the detail, good work chap, i think i need a machine polisher i can never get that level of shine by hand.
this trim and tyre gel you speak of. i've only ever had spray based trim stuff which doesn't seem to last that long. is it literally a gel that you dab onto a cloth?

IIRC i'm first dibs on it when he sells! ;)

It looks fantastic and sounds the part, really is everything you could want from a cup imo.

*Cough.. xenons!

Fantastic work Cal, those Bonnet shots are really really good. The LP blackhole combo is very good! I can see you stocking up on blackhole, your 182 has never looked so good mate.

i've always been tempted by black hole (snigger). i currently use srp and hd wax. am i right in assuming that i won't see much difference between the autoglym and dodo juice combos, and that i really need a machine to make the difference?

It looks well anyway mate... You still enjoying it?

Love it mate, handles like a dream and the v6 airbox just sounds nuts after 5k revs

Yea I have had a bottle of chemical guys trim gel stuff for a year now and still haven't used it all brilliant stuff and lasts 2 washes and you use small amounts.

Blackhole is brilliant, can be applied by hand bit better results are with a machine, get a DA mate and
Get signed up on detailing world and you will never look back again.
Good detail!

That lens is giving me a headache though

Thanks and yea was expecting these comments haha.

i'm on detailing world :) i'm gradually building up my cleaning collection- i've come a long way from turtlehead zipwax! i also have a pressure washer on my list-been looking at the nilfisk c110 for £50, looks a good buy. i'm finally getting an outside tap fitted tomorrow- it's all about the little things!

i've been reading about DAs. i see some mention polisher/sander. are these ok, or will they likely be rotary?

Detailing world guides are where it is at, read them and they will help you out alot. That is where I learned all I know, Nilfisk is what I have as my pressure washer, snow foam is great and outside tap is essential. Need any help just drop me a pm.

Just to let everyone know this was with 2 different cameras and different lenses haha I tried to limit the wide angleness lol

Top work, this looks like a very nice detail on a beautiful cup! Ive only used blackhole once on my posi blue vts but it worked a treat!

This makes me want to go out right now and begin detailing my cup lol

haha i have to agree u and that wide angle lense u love it hahaha

Haha yea i do love it, i am on the look out for a kit lense though as i know i need it for detailing now.

Turned out mint cal good work.

Haha yea i have real love for cups and all renault sports tbh, just got to get some more enhancement work now as i throughly enjoy doing it and the write up. Thanks for your comment.

Brilliant for an enhancement detail, I'd be well happy with that :)

Thanks mate, i achieved decent correction with Lime Prime so was an enhancement + really lol, would love to have to time and patience to do the full 27-30 hours work but i just dont. I have alot of respect for professionally detailers who do this.
