R27 - a depreciation champion?

  e60 M5 -172- dciheid
Rumours are aplenty that you can get an R27 for circa £14,5 - 15k dependant on spec, however as with the trophy it seems that the values are holding up well as the best price on auto trader is 14k with 1500 miles, though has xenons, but no climate.

I reckon 2 year old examples will still fetch £11k, like the trophy.

whats the vibes?

Well the dealers are still giving the last few away at 14k & under so not good for residuals.

Come back next year & post this, it's far too early to compare.

Pity the people who paid £17k & more :S..........................ouch!!!

  Turbo LY R27
i reckon a bit more than that, mines LY fully specced up, if put mine on the market again now id put it on for just under showroom price. Bet 1 mug would buy it!! LOL:cool:

But i suppose it depends on the demand for the F1, never no could be a better version in 2 years that could crash prices even more?:S

Yeah depends on if there will be another model, but if I were buying one 2nd hand I wouldn't spend extra for LY.

ok bye....

ah ah

yeh i spose, its a bit like the usual with a limited run cars, but it just seemed that there holding up quite well at the moment, so likened to the trophy

  Turbo LY R27
If i bought 1 second hand i might pay a bit more, when i got my old 182 i was lookin at LY and didnt mind spending a bit more coz they are rare. Hard to judge tho as they have only been out 5 mins. Bluddy good car tho v-impressed!!

I do like LY, it use to be really rare only 80 odd on the 182 and 18 in the V6.

Now it looks like the most common colour to have on a R27 / R26, can't really blame Renault for advertising it well and getting an extra £1200 on every order. I think it'll lose it's 'special-ness'?

Just my 2p's worth.

  Turbo LY R27
Yeah see where you are coming from, think there might be about 100 LY for the r27, i dont think its the most popular colour TBH coz of the price. Think its red and blue? But think there a bit common on the megs, they should of made it a limited run IMo. Still looks f**ing good on the megs tho!:)

I am hoping in a couple of years the r27 will be worth around the 12,500 mark with lowish miles which i would be happy having paid 15,100 for mine (still waiting for delivery) but its fully loaded bar the climate control which i am regretting now.... too late now its due to be delivered in two weeks

2 years with 15k miles i think you'll do well to get 10,500 matey as judging by current trophy sales thats where they are sitting usually

xenons, climate and folding mirrors will only had on a few hundred and make it quicker to sell as usual with 'optional' extras

  182 Trophy
I can't see an R27 holding its price as well as a Trophy as you can by a 197 with cup packs & Recaro's. Exactly the same car as an R27 minus the stickers and number.

how much was the trophy brand new??
i also think the depreciation on the trophy will have suffered due to the new shape clio's arrival and as long as the current clio shape doesn't change the r27 will hold the price ok (ish)
again i am probably being a bit hopeful

Trophy's were knocked out at about £12k (£3.5k off list price give or take)... R27's were knocked out at the end for £14k (again £3.5k off list). Admittedly the Trophy was the last hurrah and nothing came close to it for a while and so it held it's money well. i doubt the R27 will be depreciation proof, but then i've bought knowing that my car is French and doesn't have strong residual values. It does however have pure grin factor at a fraction of the price of something German which'll hold its money better
