R32 Write up + Pics

  Mk4 .:R32
Thought I'd start a new thread seeing as I've actually picked it up now and been for a few blasts (plus a looong motorway drive home in peak time traffic)

Performance:

The .:R is a bit of a dark horse. A lot of people are under the impression it's boring as it weighs a far amount and isn't a 4.2 litre V8 twin turbo. If you get the revs and clutch right, then it'll fly off the line!

It sounds fantastic as standard. The exhaust note is epic, a mixture of a beefy growl with a few subtle pops.

As most know, it's a heavy motor. But it handles pretty well, and has the power to be able to justify the weight.

The brakes don't seem as sharp as they should, although they are attempting to stop a fairly heavy beast.

All in all the performance gets 8/10 for me! Although I miss having a tasty amount of torque (from my remapped GSi) it fits the bill for what I wanted.

Ride/Comfort/Interior:

The interior of my particular choice isn't to everyones taste as it's part grey and part black but I like it.

Heated half leather Konig seats, climate control, 6 CD changer, cup holders, cassette player..... ;) what more could you want.

You can certainly tell it's a well built motor, even though it is 6/7 years old.

9/10 for interior and ride

Styling:

Won't be to everyone's tastes on here, as it's a clio forum not a VAG forum. But I think it looks superb. And imo only looks right in 3 door!

the wheels are great, and just been refurbed so are nice and shiny :)

10/10...its perfect imo :p

Wonder where you got those from ;)

Looks smart mate, as Ben said the brakes need uprating and get a nice exhaust on it, makes the world of difference!

Get the software checked on the ECU too, as we have software upgradess all the time for most VW's.

In fact the latest update for the R32 makes the low rpm pickup better, iv found most R32's have a bit of a flat spot at low revs, this improves it.

Pop it into your local Dealer and ask for the softeware to be updated
