This thread is here for our members of the product test panel to submit reviews, pictures and discuss our Rag Top Cleaner & Protector.

An overview:

Rag top cleaner is a deep cleaning shampoo for vehicle hoods. This has been designed to remove ground in dirt, road grime, mould, moss and revive convertible covers.

Rag top protector is a barrier spray for all types of vehicle hoods designed to be used in conjunction with Rag top cleaner. This will provide protection against the elements, repel road grime and stop dirt from being in-ground in to the surface. It also benefits from added UV protection to reduce and stop colour fade.

Putting it into action:

First, hose down the whole vehicle hood then liberally apply the Rag top cleaner.

Next, using either a Handi Puck and Scrubi pad combo or a medium bristle upholstery brush, work the cleaner into the fabric. Pay particular attention to heavily solid/stained areas, making sure to work the cleaner in fully.

After you’ve finished cleaning the hood, it’s time to rinse it down. Make sure you completely flush the cleaner out of the pile before patting dry with a drying towel.

Before applying the Rag top protector let the roof completely dry, it’s also advised to hoover down the top to remove any loose fibres.

Once the convertible is dry, you can start to apply the protector. The protector needs 2-3 coats to maximise protection and durability. Coat the roof with a light coat, leave to dry and repeat this process until 3 layers of the product have been applied.

Is the cleaner made with real lemons/citrus fruit? There's bits in mine lol.

Alright here we go first review ever... excuse the pics taken with my iphone i need to invest in a camera. So last Saturday the weather was actually decent so thought i would get the review done. Obviously the Clio was no good so my boss let me use one of his TVR's for the test. The car is kept in a garage under a cover but the hood was pretty dirty nothing major, but a lot of loose fibers and was looking generally dull. here's the car and how the hood looked.

Hood was rinsed

The Cleaner smells really good nice citrus fragrance. Although I'm not sure if it's meant to or not as mentioned before it does have tiny little bits in it but it didn't seem to affect anything. Applied and worked in as per instructions with a handi puck and scrubbi pad.

came out like this much cleaner all the dirt gone just a couple of fibers which was hoovered up

then i applied two coats of the protector which seemed to just finish it nicely leaving the colour looking deeper

The hood doesn't look perfect but does need changing as it's just old. I have never cleaned a soft top before to I can't compare it to any other products but this did the job superbly, my boss was impressed and is wanting to buy some when it comes out as he has another soft top. I obviously cant comment on the protector durability effectiveness as it sits in a garage under a cover 99% of the year. Enjoyed doing my first review as with all Auto Finesse products i don't think you can go wrong with it at all. Some after pictures of the car after a quick wash.

Firstly, apologies for the late post. I have been rushed off my feet these last few weeks!

I had a Porsche Boxster S 986 in for full correction a few weeks back and used the opportunity to review the new RagTop Cleaner & Protector.

The car was washed as usual ready to crack on with the roof..

Quick before shot. Generally not too bad, few areas of black mould and dirt ingress with zero signs of any protection.

Cracked out the RagTop Cleaner, sprayed liberally to the roof and worked in with a stiff brush paying particular attention to the edges.
