RAGE Exhausts

Does any one have one of these back boxes?

They seem to be quite cheap?

How do you guys rate them? - is it a case of "you get what you pay for"?

Many thanks!!

Id expect so. What are they made out of? The key to an exhaust is perfect mandrel bent pipework and the general construction and joining has to be good, which gives better flow and so more BHP. Ideally you will want to find out the production process.

They are cheep cause most are universal and you need to make them fit. Its not hard tho, my shop sells them all the time and they are pretty good. Best price for a stainless youll get.

They also do a full titanium backbox for about £150 or something, thats the only thing in the Rage range that remotely appeals to me. Otherwise theyre far too Nova-ey - the new Peco, but without the vehicle-specific fitment!!! And the backboxes are tiny, so if you dont fit a full system with a freer-flowing centre section then Id imagine youre likely to lose a lot of low end power/torque from the loss of back pressure.

On a positive note, they sound very loud.

Ive got a 5inch out rolled rage exhaust on my clio 1.2. Ive taken the cat off aswel and it sounds really deep and powerful. Ten times better than peco. My garage knocked me up all the pipes for it and fitted it with no problems.

One thing that is annoying it is fairly loud on the motorway but not unbearable.

It did sound really deep and powerful before the cat was removed then when i took the cat off it went even louder, you can hear the car before you see it but the good thing is it aint a crap sound. I was up at a cruise in thurrock essex and i was parked next to an rs2000 he was revving his engine thinging it sounded good, so for a laugh i revved up my 1.2, mine sounded louder and also started popping putting him to shame. i had the last laugh. Ill e-mail you some picks of the exhaust if ya want and you can see how it has been fitted i.e the pipes being bent.

there was no power loss at all, if anything the car picks up a bit quicker when accelerating
