Rain Sensing Wipers

Hi could somebody give me a bit of advice. I have a Clio 172 Mk 1. I have brought this from a dealer and the written spec list he gave me said it has rain sensing wipers. But when it rains it does not turn the wipers on. I am sure the reason it doesnt work is that rain sensing wipers were not fitted on the mk1 and were only introduced on the 172 mk2 am I right ??

have you moved the wiper control down one notch ??, if not try it, i assume its the saem as the 172/182 mk2

Im sure the Mk1 172 doesnt have rair sensing wipers but its easy to check just look on the windscreen where the rear view mirror is for a sensor like bit if there nothing on the windscreen then you havnt got the auto wipers.

I have checked and cant see the sensors on the windscreen by the rear view mirror.

Does anybody know for sure if the mk1 came with rain sensing wipers ?

I have checked the manual and cant find any reference to it. I need to know cause I have a legal dispute with the dealer. Basically he sold me the car 3 weeks ago and the exhaust has fell off and the alram hasnt worked from the day i brought the car. He says he does warrant alarms and im saying it has never work from day one so he should be fixing it as he sold it with an alarm.

It was thenI have noticed in writing he said on his spec sheet the car has rain sensing wipers. I am sure it doesnt so can use that as bargining to get him to fix the alarm as if it goes to court i will be asking him to fit the wipers like his written spec says.

Anybody got any opions ??
