rain sensor

hi my rain sensor has stoped working on my 182.

does anyone have any ideas on how to get it working again without going to the dealer cheers. it was working fine last week.

Dont you have to flick the stalk to activate it?

im guessing your symptoms are melee that once youve done this it doesnt work?

i allways use the rain sensor i know how to activate it.

i have a small chip in my window but i dont think thats the problem cos iv had that chip ages

I dont know why yours wont work but this could be of interest and its serious!!!I had to have a new windscreen put in my 182 due to stone damage.After the screen had been put in and the guy had gone the rain sensor wouldnt work-the guy came back and said he knew exactly what was wrong-He took off the sensor and smeared the lens with KY JELLY-really!!!not too much- and its been perfect ever since-apparently it helps the lens pick up the rain drops etc.Theres yet another use for good old KY!!!.

Have you turned it off?

You can turn the rain sensor off by having the ignition on and moving the stalk up and down 1 positon 2 times i think, its in the manual!! I did the same thing with my lights once and thought they were shfted!

i had similar problem then had to take the car in to get the pinking sensor replaced and a recall for the wiper motor flagged. maybe thatll solve it.
