Random but intrigued question...

Car  BG182 FF
Hi,

It may seem a wierd question but ive just been wondering why lol

How come my dads 1.6 focus at for instance motorway speed at 70mph sits at just under 3000RPM, however my 2.0 clio sits just above 3000. How does that make sense lol! Would you of thought the bigger the engine the less revs?

Thanks

I know what you're saying, they really should have stuck a 6th gear on it.

Google gear ratios.

Fitting bigger wheels and tyres will also make you sit at an ever so slightly lower RPM at a given speed!
