Random clutch issues (valver)

  1.8 Civic EX
ok so about a year and a half ago I had a new clutch fitted by Mr Clutch (i know, that was a big mistake to make but it works, ish) and a new clutch cabe (which is an official Renault one) ever since the biteing point seems to change as and when it wants, sometimes the pedal is real stiff and others its real light. every now and then it makes a horrible snap noise which I presume is the little ratchet bit on the pedal (it's normally at this point that the biting point will change). anyone have any sugestions on what to do about it? I was thinking maybe get one of these:

is it worth it? or should I just get another standard clutch put it by somewhere that knows what they are doing?

  Not a Clio
i had something similar.

Stick your head in the footwell (you may need to be upside down) so that you are looking up at the pedals.

There should be a small plastic sleeve over the clutch cable as it comes through the bulkhead. With mine, that obviousy wasn't in properly and had popped out on the pedal side and was just loose on the cable. I worked it back into the hole so that it was tight and hey presto - issue solved.
